With meticulous attention, I choose the trimmings or any other accessory that will enhance the coffa. The detail must be sought after, precious, refined. It can be a family brooch, a bobbin lace, a Sicilian drawn thread work, a simple lace that escapes the eyes of many, but in my mind, it becomes the architect of an elaborate creative process. This is how Marinisa Bag is born, from a coffa found at my grandparents’ house and from a white and blue tea towel that grandma herself had embroidered.”
